Research on parasites of livestock and wild animals We collect and investigate parasites infecting livestock and wild animals. Development of control techniques for food-borne sucking insect infections of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) We are conducting research on liver leeches and xenomorphic sucking insects. Especially for liver leeches, we are maintaining a living ring in our laboratory. Elucidation of the phenomenon of reduced egg formation for the purpose of reproduction control of the yellow-bellied mosquito, Culex pipiens. We have discovered a phenomenon in which the egg-forming function of the Hamadara mosquito declines when it is kept under certain conditions. We are investigating how this mysterious phenomenon occurs.
