Campus Life in Towada

The Towada Campus is located in Towada City in the eastern part of Aomori Prefecture and is the second stage for veterinary students to pursue their studies. Here students are able to spend a priceless period of their life learning from teachers and studying with friends, all while enjoying the close proximity to animals and the great outdoors.

Kitasato students from all seven life science faculties study together at the Sagamihara Campus during their first year, which consists of general education that forms the basis for specializations from their second year onward. At Sagamihara, students broaden their perspectives and focus on character development. Unlike high school, university is somewhere students’ autonomy is respected. At Kitasato, students think and act for themselves. Whether you a’re choosing courses to register for, joining a club or laboratory, engaging in cutting-edge research, or thinking of studying abroad, it all starts with you. If you challenge yourself with a sense of purpose, a whole new world will open up to you.

The majority of students are satisfied with campus life in Towada.

Students start their second year at Towada Campus, where they can engage in subjects that would be impossible to undertake on an urban campus, such as interacting with a variety of animals, studying wildlife in the great outdoors, and using state-of-the-art facilities at a veterinary teaching hospital capable of treating large and small animals alike.
